With the central idea: Creating and responding to art develops understanding of ourselves and the world around us; students will inquire into the ways people express their thoughts and ideas toward certain issue that happen around them through the arts. After going through several assemblies about Exhibition preparation, students finally finished their inquiry planning for this exhibition. They are working in groups with the same area of interest and concerns of the issue. It’s interesting to see how they bring up several issues that happen globally or in their daily life seen through the perspective of arts. Some artifacts, real world experts, and specific community that come from surrounding society were involved as primary resources during their learning process. For instance, some groups who shared the same interest on photography would like to raise people awareness of environmental issue like global warming and climate change through their photography works. They learnt about certain types of photography which support this purpose and learn how to take good photo from the expert. Finally they plan to create a photo gallery to promote action to counteract this particular issue.
The Exhibition Day will be held on March 8th 2013 in the Ciputra Hall and elementary building. This is the culmination time when students will celebrate their learning in the PYP exhibition. It’s not only about presentation but also entertaining performances, engaging presentations of learning process, and demonstration of creative products done by students. We can’t wait to share this wonderful experience and celebrate the learning success with you and other community later in the next 5 weeks to come. Meanwhile, we’d like to say thank you for any support that have been given to support this event.
